"Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you." (Romans 16:16)
The Usher and Greeter Ministry Mission is an integral part of the liturgy and supports the St. Matthew's mission of fostering life-changing encounters with Christ. At the center of the mission is hospitality (making the assembly feel welcome at all times).
Welcoming the Assembly and Supporting the Liturgy
Ushers and greeters open doors and greet the assembly as they arrive; they are frequently the first point of contact for the assembly. At the conclusion of the Mass, ushers and greeters open doors, hand out the bulletins, and offer a pleasant farewell.
Additionally, ushers help the assembly to find comfortable seating, assist with special needs, and conduct the offertory collection.
For socially outgoing men and women (including youth) who enjoy greeting and helping people, serving in the Usher and Greeter Ministry is a great way to meet some of our Church's outstanding people, grow one's faith, and serve God in the process.
